Problems with ChinaSat 18

China's new communication satellite ChinaSat 18, sent into space on 19 August, has experienced abnormalities, and space engineers are investigating the cause. The ChinaSat 18 satellite was launched at 20:03 h (Beijing Time) on a Long March-3B carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province. The satellite separated with the carrier rocket as normal, but is now working abnormally.

Near-Space experiment on atmospheric turbulence

Chinese researchers have completed an in-situ experiment to study the influence of near space atmospheric thermal turbulences on mass exchange. The flight experiment took place over the northwestern Qinghai province and the southwestern Tibet autonomous region. It lasted 13 hours and eight minutes, with a maximum altitude of 21,625 meters.
