Yutu 2 and Chang'e 4 enter 8th lunar night

China's Yutu 2 lunar rover has entered sleeping mode for the 8th lunar night of its presence on the Far Side of the Moon and is in good condition after traveling 271 meters, according to China National Space Administration. Yutu, was switched to dormant mode at around 17:50 h on 07 August after receiving signals from ground control. During the eighth lunar day of the probe on the Moon, the scientific instruments on the lander and rover worked well, and a new batch of scientific detection data were sent to the core research team for analysis.

China launches new program to accelerate BDS applications

China launched a new fund of 1 billion yuan ($142 million) on 07 August, in a bid to promote self-developed BeiDou Navigation Satellite System's (BDS) speedy applications. The "Beidou Smart Manufacturing Plan" will provide the funds and technological support to build developer ecosystems to help software developers create products in new application scenarios engaging more sectors, Shanghai Securities News reported.

Chinese space startup successfully launches a reusable rocket to a new height

Chinese private space startup Linkspace on 10 August successfully completed the third vertical takeoff, vertical landing (VTVL) test of a rocket, taking a step further in its development of a recyclable orbital rocket. The rocket, named RLV-T5 (NewLine Baby), blasted off at 10:35 h Beijing time at Linkspace's launch base in Lenghu Town, Yuya City, northwest China's Qinghai Province.It reached a new height of 300 meters before landing steadily and accurately at the designated area with little deviation. The whole process lasted for 50 seconds.
