China's SOEs, private companies race to produce more satellites

China's state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and private companies are racing to build up their capacity to produce more commercial satellites for their own ambitious networks, as the country's policy support for the industry attracts more capital. Ground was broken on April 24 for a satellite industry park, where annual production is expected to exceed 100 satellites, in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei Province.

China's lunar rover travels over 190 meters on Moon's far side

China's lunar rover Yutu 2 has driven 190.66 meters on the far side of the Moon to conduct scientific exploration on the unchartered territory. Both the lander and the rover of the Chang'e 4 probe switched to dormant mode for the lunar night on 11 May, according to the Lunar Exploration and Space Program Center of the China National Space Administration.
