Yuanwang 5 departs for monitoring missions

China's spacecraft tracking ship Yuanwang-5 is sailing to the Indian Ocean from a port in eastern China's Jiangsu Province Sunday for a maritime space monitoring mission. Yuanwang tracking ships have completed four missions since January, with more than 140 days at sea, a record high in recent years. They are expected to carry out more missions this year, according to the China satellite maritime tracking and controlling authorities.

International students learn satellite design in China

Foreign students at Shenzhou Institute in Beijing are part of a training programme hosted by the China Academy of Space Technology. The idea is to train a small group of elite foreign students to become space industry engineers capable of developing and manufacturing satellites on their own, thus enabling their countries to build their respective space industries and explore space.

Chinese deep-space research leads to deeper international cooperation

Chinese space experts have strengthened international exchanges in the latest achievements in exploring the moon, Mars, Jupiter, asteroids and the deeper cosmos. While developing the Chang'e 5 and Chang'e 6 lunar probes and China's first Mars probe, China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) is also pushing forward space programs such as the planned unmanned lunar research station, and probing asteroids, Mars, the Jovian system and the edge of the solar system, as well as interplanetary exploration, said experts from CAST.

Milestone achievement for Landspace: Liquid oxygen-methane engine assembled in Huzhou

LandSpace has assembled an 80-tonne thrust liquid oxygen-methane engine in Huzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province. The TQ-12 engine, independently developed by private rocket-maker LandSpace over the past two years, is a new generation power system for carrier rockets. Its main components, the thrust chamber, gas generator, turbopump and valve have passed tests. The TQ-12 has a lower servo motor load and engine wobble range. Its integrated design can reduce both components quantity and cost.
