China private rocket firm signs 100-mln-yuan contracts with UK, Italian counterparts

China's private rocket company LandSpace Technology Corporation Ltd. signed contracts with UK's Open Cosmos and Italy's D-Orbit on 25 April, totaling over 100 million RMB (14.8 million U.S. dollars). The Huzhou-based company will seek cooperation with the two overseas launch service and mission management providers in the launch of CubSat, a miniaturized satellite for space research and in-orbit delivery, according to LandSpace.

Yuanwang 2 tracking ship starts new mission after retirement

China's retired space tracking ship Yuanwang 2 will start its new mission of public education in the city of Jiangyin, in east China's Jiangsu Province. The Yuanwang 2 was donated to the Jiangyin municipal government on 28 April. The vessel will start its new mission in science popularization education after serving China's aerospace development for more than 40 years.

Chang'e 4 probe resumes work for fifth lunar day

The lander and the rover of the Chang'e 4 probe have resumed work for the fifth lunar day on the far side of the moon after "sleeping" during the extreme cold night. The lander woke up at 7:40 h in the morning of the 29 April, and the rover, Yutu 2 (Jade Rabbit 2), awoke at 13:45 h on 28 April. Both are in normal working condition, according to the Lunar Exploration and Space Program Center of the China National Space Administration.

China and Pakistan sign space exploration agreement - paving the way for 1st Pakistani astronaut on CSS

China and Pakistan signed a cooperation agreement on manned space missions, marking the cooperation between the two countries in space exploration entering a new phase, according to the China National Space Administration (CNSA) on 28 April. CNSA Director Hao Chun and Chairman of the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO,) Amer Nadeem, signed the agreementĀ on 28 April in Beijing, according to a statement on the CNSA WeChat account. The space agreement will serve as a high-level foundation for cooperation from both sides in space science and exploration. Both nations will conduct scientific and technological experiments, astronaut training, along with manned space applications and achievement transformation, said the CNSA statement.
