An international research team has conducted a precise measurement of the spectrum of protons, the most abundant component of cosmic rays, in an energy range from 40 GeV to 100 TeV (one TeV is one trillion electron volts, corresponding to one trillion times the energy of visible light) with China's Dark Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE), also known as Wukong or Monkey King. This is the first time that an experiment directly measures the cosmic ray protons up to the energy of 100 TeV with high precision, according to the research team.

The 'Field Trip and Training for FY-2 Meteorological Satellite Medium Scale Data Utilization Station' which was jointly organised by APSCO Secretariat and China Meteorological Administration (CMA) was successfully conducted from 17-19 September 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand. Experts from CMA introduced the FY series satellites and its applications, a short training on FY-2 system and preparatory work was carried out during the event.

In the report 'Big Earth Data in Support of the Sustainable Development Goals' is outlined that China will continue to support the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (UN SDG 2030) by providing open, high-quality earth science data, research methods and Chinese solutions on major issues that may serve as a reference or inspiration for other countries. To achieve the SDG, insufficient data, imperfect research methods and diverse local concerns are some of the biggest obstacles. With the five-year Big Earth Data Science Engineering Project by the Chinese Academy of Sciences launched last year those obstacles can be tackled.

China's spacecraft tracking ship Yuanwang 3 is sailing to the Pacific Ocean to carry out maritime monitoring missions for the BeiDou 3 and other satellites. The ship departed on 29 September from a port in east China's Jiangsu Province. It is the third voyage of the ship this year. Before setting sails, crew members completed preparation of supplies, carried out examinations and tests of the facilities and received tailored training to ensure the success of the missions.
