Macau will have its first space satellite in 2020/2021

Macau’s first scientific satellite is due to be launched into space in 2020/2021, the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) announced on 09 October, and people from the territory were invited to submit proposals of names by 31 October 2019. The satellite will be placed in an almost equatorial orbit to measure the geomagnetic field and space environment of the South Atlantic Anomaly.

China's rocket-carrying ships depart for transportation mission

China's two rocket-carrying ships departed on 12 October from a port in east China's Jiangsu Province on a transportation mission. The two Yuanwang ships are China's first ships made exclusively to carry rockets. With a length of 130 meters, a width of 19 meters and a height of 37 meters, the ships have a displacement of 9,000 tonnes.

Satellite center starts running in Shanghai

15 October 2019
A satellite research and development center started operation on its north section on 12 October in east China's Shanghai.
The Lingang Satellite Center was constructed by the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of the Chinese Academy of Sciences which participated in the development of the Dark Matter Particle Explorer, nicknamed Wukong or Monkey King, and the quantum science satellite Mozi.

Planned new rocket carries hope for China's manned lunar landing programme

15 October 2019
Space engineers have made a key step in designing a new generation launch vehicle that could help start China's manned lunar exploration program, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). A pre-study for the carrier rocket, conducted by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) under the CASC, has passed a review by the China Manned Space Agency.
