Innovation base for Beidou industry in Beijing

On 27 August, the city of Beijing launched an innovation base for the Beidou satellite navigation industry, aimed at accelerating the development of high-tech industries, and improving the Beidou industrial ecology in the capital city. It will also help the city's Beidou navigation and location service industry to gather core elements, achieve high-quality development, and promote the formation of a Beidou satellite navigation industrial park with global influence.

Tianwen 1 travels around 100 million km

Tianwen 1 has traveled around 100 million km as of 28 August, 10:08 h BJT, according to the China National Space Administration (CNSA). The Mars probe is in stable condition and its multiple payloads have finished self-checks. It has traveled in orbit for 36 days and is 10.75 million km away from Earth. So far, Tianwen 1 has captured an image of Earth and the Moon and conducted its first orbital correction manoeuvre. Starting from 19 August, 20:20 h BJT, multiple payloads, including the Mars magnetometer, Mars mineralogy spectrometer and high-resolution camera, have completed self-checks. The scientific data of the payloads were transmitted to the ground smoothly, confirming the nominal operation of the instruments. Multiple flight control tasks were also carried out normally.

AAAS announces new Science Partner Journal, Space: Science & Technology

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) is pleased to announce the launch of new Science Partner Journal, Space: Science & Technology, published in affiliation with the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). BIT cooperates with China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) which is affiliated with China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) in managing the journal. Space: Science & Technology is an online-only Open Access journal. The goal of Space: Science & Technology is to publish high-quality, high-influence Research Articles, Review Articles, Editorials and Perspectives from the world's top universities and research institutions on the intersections, frontiers and hot topics in the space field.

Chang'e 4 for 600 days on Moon's far side

China's Chang'e 4 probe has survived more than 600 Earth days on the far side of the Moon while conducting scientific explorations. With a variety of scientific instruments on board, the lander and rover observed and measured the exotic land, offering unprecedented views and understanding the characteristics of the environment on the far side of the Moon.
