The third Long March-5 rocket, China's largest carrier rocket, was vertically transported to the launching area at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in south China's Hainan Province on 21 December. The carrier rocket Long March 5 Y3, is planned to be launched at the end of December, according to the China National Space Administration. Space engineers have conducted a general assembly and tests on the rocket after it was transported to Wenchang at the end of October.

More than 4,000 sets of disaster prevention equipment were installed in Southwest China's Guizhou province and 29 geological disaster forecast devices built or renovated, which have already helped forecast geological disasters. Over 60,000 sets of equipment were developed and applied to help ease traffic congestion, accident reduction and emergency rescue. More than 10,000 pieces of equipment at scenic spots and travel agencies are pushing forward smarter tourism.

Chang'e 4 lander and Yutu 2 rover have resumed work for the 13th lunar day after laying dormant during the 12th lunar night, according to the Lunar Exploration and Space Programme Centre of the China National Space Administration. The lander woke up at 5:14 h BJT on 21 December, and the rover awoke at 18:43 h BJT on 20 December. Both are in normal working conditions. The rover has driven more than 345 m on the far side of the Moon to explore the territory.
