Meteorological experts from across the globe shared their views on the development of meteorological careers online and offline, during the International Forum on High-quality Meteorological Development on 15 September in Beijing. Petteri Taalas, Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organisation, said that the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has an advanced infrastructure, sophisticated observation systems and a high-level talent team, which makes it one of the world's leading meteorological departments. He apreciates CMA's assistance in improving meteorological capacity in less developed countries, and its contribution in global greenhouse gas monitoring and climate change adaptation. Zhuang Guotai, Head of CMA, said China is ready to share experience and achievements of meteorological developments with other WMO members and will continue to strengthen the global service provided by Fengyun weather satellites.
