Transposition of Wentian module completed

30 September 2022
The Wentian lab module has been repositioned to dock with a radial port on the Station's Tianhe core module on 30 September afternoon. CMSA said in a news release that during the hour-long operation that finished at 12:44 BJT, Wentian was moved from the axial port of Tianhe to a radial port of the core module. The maneuver was carried out based on cooperation between astronauts inside Tiangong and ground controllers. After the operation, the Tiangong station is now L-shaped and will remain in that shape until the docking with the Mengtian lab module.

Milestone achievement in long-range, high-precision time-frequency dissemination

05 October 2022
The research group led by Pan Jianwei from University of Science and Technology of China has realized the experiment on free-space high precision time and frequency dissemination across 113 km for the first time in the world, with dissemination of time stability reaching the femtosecond level, which can meet the time dissemination requirements of the optical clock with the current highest precision. This achievement in basic scientific research is expected to have major applications in the study of fundamental problems in physics, from navigation, to gravitational wave detection, to dark matter search. The technique can not only be directly used in ground-based applications, but could also lay the groundwork for future satellite time-frequency dissemination.
