Beijing 3B satellite launched

On 24 August at 11:01 BJT, the Beijing 3B satellite was launched on board a CZ-2D rocket from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre. Beijing 3B will mainly be used to provide remote sensing services in the fields of land resources management, agricultural resources survey, environment monitoring and city applications.

China conducts spaceplane flight test

In the morning of 26 August, China carried out a key flight test of its reusable suborbital spaceplane, according to CASC. The spaceplane started its own propulsion system and then conducted a vertical liftoff from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in northwestern China's Gobi Desert. After completing a preplanned suborbital flight, the craft made a conventional landing on the runway at the Alxa Right Banner Airport in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. The vehicle was lifted off after inspection and maintenance. It was its 2nd launch.
