CZ-2D launched another batch of Yaogan satellites

On 20 August at 01:37 BJT, China launched the 4th batch of the Yaogan 35 remote sensing satellites from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre. They will be mainly used to conduct science experiments, land resource surveys, yield estimation of agricultural products and disaster prevention and reduction. The launch was the Long March's 103th consecutive successful launch since the launch failure from 5 May 2020.

Yuanwang 3 sails for maritime tracking, monitoring tasks

Space tracking ship Yuanwang 3 left its port on 22 August at 9:00 BJT for its next maritime tracking and monitoring mission. Before the departure, the scientific and technical personnel have conducted the comprehensive overhaul and test of the onboard tracking and monitoring equipment, and carried out the practical operation drills. "On this voyage, we will be faced with practical tests such as long sailing time, great changes in time zones, aging equipment performance and variable weather conditions in the targeted area," said Sun Jiangping, director of Yuanwang-3's planning department.

Chuangxin 16 satellite launched on board Kuaizhou 1A

On 23 August, a Kuaizhou 1A rocket launched from Xichang Satellite Launch Centre at 10:36 BJT and placed the Chuangxin 16 satellite into orbit. Chuangxin 16 was developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and will mainly be used for scientific experiments and verification of new technologies.
