New record in long-distance quantum states transmission

07 May 2022
Chinese scientists made record-breaking progress in realising quantum states transmission between 2 ground stations over 1,200 km apart via the Quantum Experiments at Space Scale (QUESS) satellite, signalling a giant step towards constructing a global quantum information processing and communication network. The experiment was led by Pan Jianwei, Professor for physics at the University of Science and Technology of China, and the related paper co-authored by Pan and his team members was published in the international journal of Physical Review Letters on 26 April.
