GalaxySpace successfully tested V-band data transmission in LEO

06 April 2022
GalaxySpace successfully tested V-band low orbit measurement and operational control on its 6 satellites, launched on 5 March. The satellites will verify the operation of the network and service capability of the LEO internet constellation. They will also verify remote sensing technology. Currently, the Ku/Ka frequency spectrum is mainly used for satellite communication, making it hard to find free frequencies. Therefore, the international commercial communication satellites are gradually switching to higher frequency bands.

Earth observation satellite Gaofen 3-03 launched

07 April 2022
China launched the new Earth observation satellite Gaofen 3-03 from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China in the morning of 07 April BJT. The new satellite will operate within the network of Gaofen 3 and Gaofen 3-02 satellites to form a land-sea radar satellite constellation and capture reliable, stable synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. The satellites provide imagary will have a 1 m resolution and have a one-day revisit period, thereby improving the monitoring capabilities of China's land-sea radar satellites. The data will be used for marine disaster prevention and mitigation, dynamic marine environment monitoring, marine research, environmental protection, water conservancy, agriculture and meteorology, while helping to safeguard maritime rights and interests.
