Long March launched new group of Yaogan satellites

China launched a group of remote-sensing satellites from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in Northwest China on 03 November. The 2nd group of the Yaogan 32 satellite family was launched by a Long March 2C rocket with an attached upper stage at 15:43 BJT and entered the planned orbit.

SAST rolls out the largest integrally formed propellant tank bottom of new launch vehicle

SAST rolled out China's largest integrally formed propellant tank bottom for the new launch vehicle. The 3.8 m diameter tank was built using new spinning technology developed by SAST to meet the requirements of lightweight and rapid manufacturing. The successful closing of the 21 m long tank was a milestone in the development of the new launch vehicle. The tank accounts for over 60 % of a rocket's structural weight.

Guangmu - SDGSAT-1 Earth observation satellite launched

China launched an Wide-Eye Geoscience Satellite into its preset orbit on 5 November at 10:19 BJT. The satellite, called Guangmu, was developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Its 3 optical payloads will conduct precision space-based survey of fuel consumption, urban construction and coastal environments in densely populated regions to provide data in support of the research of humankind-nature interaction and sustainable development. It is the world's first satellite dedicated to servicing the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development comprising 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of which the satellite will support 6 goals. Therefore the satellite is also named SDGSAT-1.

Shenzhou 13 crew is preparing for 1st extravehicular activity of mission

The 3 Shenzhou 13 taikonauts, currently working and living in the Tianhe core module of the China Space Station, will carry out their first extravehicular activity in the coming days, China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) announced on 05 November. During the first days of their mission, the crew was busy transferring packages, testing new spacesuit, physical checks and some experiments. In addition, the astronauts conducted drills including emergency exit in orbit, robotic arm operation and medical rescue. Wang Yaping is expected to be the first female taikonaut to do a space walk.
