Jilin-1 Gaofen-02F launched by Kuaizhou-1A

The 12th mission by a Kuaizhou-1A rocket sent the optical remote sensing satellite Jilin-1 Gaofen-02F into space. The satellite, developed by Changguang Satellite Technology, can provide high resolution images and high-speed data transmission.

Zhurong to perform a radio test with ESA's Mars Express

Zhurong Mars rover will perform a radio test with the Mars Express of the European Space Agency (ESA) next month after it survived the almost one-month solar outage. ESA Operations announced on 27 October that its Mars Express team is planning a series of five communication tests with the Chinese Zhurong Mars rover in November. Zhurong will transmit data 'blind' as part of a technique designed over a decade ago but not tested in orbit until now. ESA will pass any received data on to the Zhurong team for analysis.

Mars Express keeps an ear out for Chinese rover

ESA’s Mars Express team is planning a series of five communication tests with the Chinese Zhurong Mars rover in November. While the Mars Express spacecraft can ‘hear’ the rover, the rover cannot ‘hear’ Mars Express. Zhurong will transmit data ‘blind’ as part of a technique designed over a decade ago but not tested in orbit until now. ESA will pass any received data on to the Zhurong team for analysis.

China's 5th space launch centre gets a new sea launch vessel

Global Times reported that China's 1st vessel to support satellite launches from the sea is expected to be delivered by 2022, following a recent ceremony to mark the start of the ship's construction in the city of Haiyang, East China's Shandong Province. The New-Type Rocket Launch Vessel will be 162.5 m long, 40-m wide, and it is designed to meet the increasing demand for the launch and recovery of China's existing medium- to large-sized solid-propellant rockets and those under development, as well as small- to medium-sized liquid-propellant ones, the Global Times learned from project insiders on 31 October. The past sea launches were conducted from a modified barge.
