The Shenzhou 12 crew has already spent half of the time of their 3-month space mission. They have conducted a series of experiments using the human research facility. The research rack is supporting investigations of basic cognitive ability, physical exercise, weight loss and vision. It can also store medical samples, archives and medical instruments. A medical fridge can keep different samples such as blood, urine and saliva refrigerated.

Mars rover Zhurong has traveled more than 800 m on the Martian surface as of 6 August, according to the Lunar Exploration and Space Programme Centre of the China National Space Administration. Zhurong has been traversing a complex terrain full of rocks, craters and dunes, and its rear hazard-avoidance camera captured a picture of the rover just moving across the rocks. By 6 August, the rover has worked on the surface of Mars for 82 Martian days and the Tianwen 1 orbiter has been in orbit for 379 days. Both are in good condition and functioning properly.

China’s first 9.5-m-diameter rocket tank bottom and the liquid booster engine for the super-heavy-lift Long March-9 carrier rocket were rolled out in recent days. The breakthrough was made in Wuhan, Central China’s Hubei Province, by research teams from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). It has filled the gap in extra-large rocket tank products in the country’s aerospace industry, according to the China Space News on Wednesday, which is co-published by CASC and another industry giant China Academy of Space Technology.
