Since landing on Mars on 15 May last year, Zhurong, traversed 1.9 km on the surface of planet Mars. As of 1 May, the rovers has been operational for 342 Martian days. A Martian day is approximately 40 minutes longer than a day on Earth. Mars is about to enter the winter season, during which night temperatures will drop below minus 100 degrees Celsius, with a high probability of sandstorms.

On 30 April at 11:30 BJT, China successfully sent five Jilin 1 high-resolution satellites into planned orbit from a platform in the East China Sea. The satellites were launched by a CZ-11 rocket and have successfully entered their planned orbit. They will provide commercial remote sensing data services for sectors including land resource survey, urban planning and disaster monitoring. The Jilin 1 constellation is expected to have 138 satellites by 2025 and become the largest commercial observation constellation in China.

On 29 April, China successfully sent the two satellites Siwei 01 and 02 into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre. They were launched by a CZ-2C carrier rocket at 12:11 BJT and have entered the planned orbit. Siwei 01 and 02 will provide commercial remote sensing data services for industries including surveying and mapping, environmental protection, as well as urban security and digital rural development.

China has announced a list of research institutions that are set to receive the 4th batch of lunar samples from the CE-5 mission. The samples, which weigh 8.768 grams, will be distributed to scientists in 11 research institutions, according to a notice issued by the Lunar Exploration and Space Programme Centre of the China National Space Administration.

On 26 April, China opened the return capsule of the Shenzhou 13 spaceship which landed with the SZ-13 crew on 16 April. Items carried by the spacecraft, including crop seeds, 8K high-definition memory card storing images and videos taken by the astronauts in orbit, commemorative stamps, and paintings by Hong Kong teenagers, were taken out from the return capsule.
