An international team of scientists has developed a comprehensive method, which include the noise reduction and the calculation of the plasma moments, to derive the solar wind parameters from the Tianwen 1 observations provided by the Chinese Planet Exploration Program Scientific Data Release System. The work is described in the publication: "The solar wind plasma upstream of Mars observed by Tianwen-1: Comparison with Mars Express and MAVEN" .

The total output value of China's satellite navigation and location services industry reached 469 billion RMB (about 69.6 billion USD) in 2021, up 16.3 % from 2020, according to an industry white paper released on 18 May.
China remained the top source of international satellite navigation patent applications last year, with a total of 98,000 applications, said the white paper issued by the Global Navigation Satellite System and Location Based Service Association of China.

The launch of the 4th SQX-1 (Shuang Quxian 1; Hyperbola 1) commercial rocket of space start-up iSpace on 13 May was not successful. Abnormal performance was identified during the flight of the rocket, which lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre at 15:09 BJT. The cause of the failure is under investigation, the launch centre said in a statement.
