Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and China’s space exploration odyssey

Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center (JSLC), built in 1958 and located in Jiuquan City of northwest China’s Gansu Province, is China’s first and largest comprehensive space mission launch center, as well as the only manned space flight launch center in China. JSLC is mainly used to launch spacecrafts into medium and lower earth orbits and sun-synchronous orbits. It has witnessed many firsts and major achievements in China’s space exploration.

Kazcosmos delegation visited space infrastructure facilities of China

The second meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Working Group for Cooperation in Space Activities was held in Beijing. The Deputy Chairman of the Aerospace Committee of the Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Defense and Aerospace Industry Malik Olzhabekov held negotiations with Deputy Administrator of China National Space Administration Wu Yanhua. The sides discussed promising areas of cooperation in satellite technology applications and in the development of scientific programmes.

Core material for new type of Long March 3A payload fairing completely domestically made

The new Long March 3-A payload fairing with a diameter of 4.2 meters was designed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC)'s China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology and has been delivered, according to a company statement published on its official WeChat account on 31 May. "Previous payload fairings with a diameter of 5 meters were built with imported materials," read the statement. "The materials, especially the core materials, used this time for a new type of payload fairing were completely domestically made, laying a solid foundation for applications for all the country's launch vehicles." The core materials are made from homegrown polymethacrylimide (PMI), a light and stable material with heat-resistance and noise cancelling capabilities, allowing full wave penetration that enables spacecraft including satellites to receive and send radio signals.
