The Space-time & Remote Sensing Big Data Forum was held under the umbrella of the 2019 Changshu Golden Autumn Economic & Trade Conference. A series of forums and activities focusing on big data, space technology and intelligent manufacturing technology were conducted in an effort to help Changshu to forge a digital economic development demonstration zone and provide fresh impetus for the city's high-quality development. The city of Changshu signed strategic cooperation agreements with Robot Funder Club (RFC) and Beijing Institute of Spacecraft Environment Engineering (BISEE), a subsidiary of the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) on the conference.

An experiment with up to 36 people lying in bed simultaneously to simulate the effects on the human body experienced in a weightless space environment recently concluded at a research institute in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province. During the experiment, 36 recruited male volunteers rested in beds that were tilted head-down at a six-degree angle for 90 days. Over the three-month period from August to October, tests and data collections have been done more than 10,000 times concerning the participants' basic physiology, angiocarpy, bones, psychological status and other items.

Qi Faren, a preeminent space scientist and former head of the China Academy of Space Technology, recently became the third Chinese person to be included into the International Astronautical Federation Hall of Fame. Qi's selection was announced at the 70th International Astronautical Congress that was held from 21 to 25 October in Washington.
