Since 04 August night, ground stations located in Beijing and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have tracked and received data from the Goumang (Jumang) terrestrial ecosystem carbon monitoring satellite in 3 tasks, which lasted 25 min with a total size of 306 GB, said the Aerospace Information Research Institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

On 24 July, the Wentian lab module docked successfully with the Tianhe core module of China's space station. The whole docking process took 13 hours, a huge progress compared to the docking of the Shenzhou-8, which took two days. Xie Yongchun, director of Technology Committee, 502 Research Institute of the China Academy of Space Technology, is the leading figure in overcoming the technological challenge of rendezvous and docking.

In the morning of 4 August, China successfully launched a terrestrial ecosystem carbon monitoring satellite and 2 other satellites from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre. The CZ-4B took off at 11:08 BJT. The payloads entered the planned orbit successfully. The carbon monitoring satellite is mainly used for terrestrial ecosystem carbon monitoring, the surveying and monitoring of terrestrial ecology and resource, and major national ecological projects monitoring and evaluation. It will also provide operational support and research services in fields such as environmental protection, surveying and mapping, meteorology, agriculture, and disaster reduction.

On 5 August, China successfully launched a reusable experimental spacecraft on board a CZ-2F carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre. After a period of in-orbit operation, the spacecraft will return to its scheduled landing site in China. It will test reusable technologies and in-orbit service technologies as planned during its flight, providing technological support for the peaceful use of space. CASC did not elaborate on details of the mission and the spacecraft, nor publish pictures of the liftoff or scenes inside the ground control hall.

The small robotic arm on board the Wentian lab module of China's space station has performed a series of in-orbit tests, achieving the expected results, CMSA reported on 2 August. The tests comprised unlocking, self-inspection, single joint deployment, confirmation of crawling ability, detaching from the base, inspection of adapters, solar array and exit hatches and joint test.
