OneSpace Technologies in exhibiting at Farnborough Air Show 2018

15 July 2018
OneSpace Technologies became the first privately owned firm in China to launch a rocket into suborbital trajectory on 17 May with its OS-X. The 9.14 m rocket flew for 273.5 km to an altitude of 38 km before falling back to Earth. Meanwhile, the company is developing a larger in-orbital OS-M rocket that is slated for its maiden launch by year-end, and already has secured a payload. Three variants of the OS-M are planned: OS-M1, -M2, and -M4, each with differing load and launch performance. The most powerful, OS-M4, can deliver a 446-kg payload into a Sun-synchronous orbit of 800 km, or 588 kg into low-Earth orbit. The OS-X will still be produced for smaller payloads.
OneSpace Technologies can be found in Hall 1 at Stand 1094 of Farnborough Air Show 2018.

Private firms, like i-Space and OneSpace, race to build carrier rockets

16 July 2018
Nearly 10 private rocket firms have been launched in China over the past three years. Among them, i-Space and OneSpace Technology, two startups based in Beijing, have taken leading positions, as each has launched a test rocket developed on their own to verify their designs and equipment. The two have made it clear that they have no intention of grabbing government-funded missions from State-owned space giants, namely China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp and China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp, but aspire to satiate the huge demand in launch service from newly founded satellite companies, most of which also are privately owned.

LandSpace Unveils Highly Ambitious New Zhuque-2 (ZQ-2) rocket

18 July 2018
The former Water Cube of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games was an appropriate venue for a landmark event held by Chinese private launch company LandSpace earlier this month, given the liquid methane engines involved. The company was unveiling its medium-sized launch vehicle strategic initiative, which included a liquid methane-powered rocket capable of lifting multiple tons into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) — namely, its Zhuque-2 (ZQ-2) rocket. While containing a number of updates on strategy, range of rockets, and company value proposition, the most significant component of this event was the sheer size and ambitions of the company’s announced rocket. The ZQ-2 is much larger than anything China’s slew of private launch companies have unveiled to date.
