China-Russia Consortium Space Weather Centre established in Beijing

On 16 November, the China-Russia Consortium (CRC) space weather centre was established in Beijing. Its objective is to accelerate the development of meteorological services for international civil aviation and enhance China's international influence in the sector. The centre is jointly established and operated by the China Meteorological Administration, the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring. It is the first global center approved by the International Civil Aviation Organisation in Chinese civil aviation meteorology and also the fourth global space weather centre.

The symposium on the Peaceful Use of Space Technology – Health (IPSPACE 2021) will take place as a hybrid event from 18-20 November 2021 in Beijing. The broad theme of IPSPACE 2021 is the peaceful use of space technology for human health. Under the conference's motto "One Space, One Home" international scientists, entrepreneurs, educators, scholars, and professionals in health, spatial IT, education, finance, insurance, and energy will join to reflect on the latest developments of space for the benefit of humanity.

Gaofen 11-03 launched from Taiyuan

China launched on board a Long March-4B rocket the Gaofen 11-03 remote sensing satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre on 20 November 2021 at 09:51 BJT. The satellite entered the planned orbit successfully. Developed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Gaofen 11-03 will be mainly used for land surveys, city planning, land rights confirmation, road network design, crop yield estimation and disaster prevention and mitigation.

Gaofen 3-02 launched from Jiuquan

Earth observation satellite Gaofen 3-02 was launched by a Long March 4C rocket at 07:45 BJT from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre. The satellite has entered the planned orbit successfully. The satellite will operate in a solar synchronous orbit at an altitude of 755 km and will be networked with the orbiting Gaofen 3 satellite to form a land-sea radar satellite constellation. It will improve the monitoring capabilities of marine ship observations, as well as the monitoring of emergencies at sea and the land-sea natural environment.
