Launch of Shiyan 6 test satellite

09 April 2021
A CZ-4B rocket launched, the 3rd of the Shiyan 6 series of satellites from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in north China's Shanxi Province on 9 April 2021 at 7:01 BJT. The satellite was successfully placed into the planned orbit. It will be used to carry out space environment survey and experiments on related technologies.

SUPARCO issues AO for students and young scientists for research on CSS

Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) in collaboration with China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) have invited researchers to propose and conduct experiments on China Space Station (CSS). Students or researchers can submit concept papers to conduct research in the field of space science and technology on board CSS in the areas including space life science and biotechnology, microgravity fluid physics and combustion, space material sciences, space physics and environment, earth sciences, fundamental physics and space utilisation novel technology. SUPARCO's ‘Space Education and Awareness Programme’ is responsible for the administration of the AO. The deadline for submission of proposal is not yet defined.

Hainan Earth-Observation Satellite Constellation

Hainan plans to launch 4 satellites around the end of 2021, beginning construction of the Hainan Earth-Observation Satellite Constellation System. This space-based network, funded by the Hainan provincial government, will be extended to a constellation of 10 satellites with multispectral and SAR capabilities and will be capable of monitoring all of the South China Sea in real time.

Long March-7 Y3 rocket for Space Station mission arrived in Wenchang

12 April 2021
China's Long March-7 Y3 rocket, which will launch the cargo craft of China's space station, has arrived at Wenchang launch site on Hainan island. The rocket, alongside the Tianzhou 2 cargo craft that has already been transported to the Wenchang Space Launch Centre, will be assembled and tested at the launch site, China Manned Space Engineering Office (CMSEO) said on 12 April.
