Yuanwang 6 sails to Pacific Ocean for multiple monitoring missions

China's upgraded tracking vessel Yuanwang 6 is sailing to the Pacific Ocean from a port in east China's Jiangsu Province Wednesday for multiple maritime missions of spacecraft monitoring. Yang Bianjiao, captain of Yuanwang 6, said the upcoming mission will test the vessel's new equipment and improvement in measuring and controlling operation, laying foundations for future missions including the Mars exploration and Chang'e 5 lunar probe launch. Crew members have examined facilities and conducted a series of training programs and tests before the voyage to improve their emergency response capabilities.

China-funded satellite television project for 1,000 villages in Mozambique concluded

The Government of Mozambique announced on 19 May the conclusion of a project to bring digital satellite television signal to 1,000 villages in the country, which is supposed to benefit over 20,000 families. The Minister of Transport and Communication Janfar Abdulai made the announcement after reviewing the project in the northern province of Cabo Delgado.

Tianqin 1 completes tests of gravitational-wave detection technologies in space

After the Tianqin-1 satellite was launched as a secondary payload together with the main payload CBERS-4A on 20 December 2019, 6 key technologies have been tested over the past 5 months, including high-precision inertial sensing and micro-Newton propulsion, both of which are necessary to detect gravitational waves in space, said Luo Jun, President of Sun Yat-sen University and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. "The test results are better than the mission requirements," Luo said on 21 May.
