Physicists in China are beginning to return to the lab following the COVID-19 pandemic, but many of their projects face delays, as Ling Xin reports for Physics World. She also spoke space scientists like Shaolin Xiong, an astrophysicist at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Principal Investigator of the GECAM space science mission (Gravitational-wave high-energy Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor), which is scheduled for launch by the end of the year. Also, she could get hold of Bertrand Cordier of the Saclay Nuclear Research Centre in France, who coordinates the French involvement in SVOM (Space Variable Objects Monitor), the French-Chinese joint gamma-ray telescope.
